volume of real estate sales in December 2005 was down
20.7% from December 2004 volume and the
total value of sales was down 18.6% from the previous
year. The average individual property sale value was
up 2.6% from the previous year. There was a 10.8%
decrease in the volume of mortgage activity from December
2004 levels.
Year to
Date: Sales Volume is down 9.3%; Total Sales Value is down
4.4%; Individual sales value is up 5.4%; Mortgage volume
is down 11.3%.
Register Meade
reports that there were 518 deeds recorded at the
Barnstable Registry of Deeds in December 2005 with
stated sales values between $25,000.00 and $1,000,000.00,
representing a stated value of $192,307,786.00 in
county-wide real estate sales.
Based on all
property sales valued between $25,000.00 and
$1,000,000.00, the average sale price of property in
Barnstable
County
in December was $371,250.00.
There were
2,319 mortgages recorded with values between
$25,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 in December with a
total value of $490,202,584.00. The average
mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was
$211,385.00.
